Meeting to Review RFP for Heritage Hall

The Frankfort Village Board will seek public comment about a proposal for the purchase of Heritage Hall at a Committee of the Whole meeting of the Frankfort Village Board that is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2008 at 6:00 PM in Heritage Hall, 14 S. Hickory Street. LaSalle St. Securities LLC proposes to purchase the building, renovate it and use it for a stock brokerage and financial office.

Frankfort Mayor, Jim Holland, has directed staff to include an item on the April 28 Village Board agenda that will direct staff to negotiate the details of a sale contract. If negotiations are completed, the contract could come before the Village Board as early as the May 5 meeting.

Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland commented, “We are pleased with LaSalle St.’s offer and we believe it matches requests we have heard from Frankfort Citizens. LaSalle St. stock broker employees, their clients and other professionals who work in the building will bring considerable activity to this part of the village. The building will be rebuilt. The parking lot and the museum will continue to be owned by the people of Frankfort.”
